Kochi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking a CBI probe into the death of a top Kerala Government official Naveen Babu who was found dead in his quarters in Kannur in Kerala on October 15, media reports said.
Rejecting the plea filed by his widow Manjusha, the court said all cases cannot be entrusted to the CBI.
Kerala High Court had rejected the pleas twice.
Naveen Babu was found hanging at his official quarters on October 15, the next day of his farewell eve when a CPM leader P P Divya crashed into the party uninvited and insulted Babu accusing him of corruption charges.
The state police arrested her on charges of abetment to Babu’s death. Later, she was released on bail.
There are also allegations against police for not connecting evidence properly about the death of Naveen who, reports said, was murdered and hanged.
A probe conducted by the Revenue department found Navin Babu a honest official.
