Kochi: Israel has warned to end the ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza, if it fails to release Israeli hostages by Saturday noon, BBC reports said. Israel Premier Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered forces to remain prepared inside and around Gaza in the wake of Hamas announcement to delay freeing of Israeli hostages accusing Tel Aviv of violating the deal.
Netanyahu did not specify whether he was demanding the release of all 76 remaining hostages, or just the three due to be freed this Saturday, On the other hand, Hamas has accused Israel of violating the 21 day old ceasefire deal, which has been denied by Israel. After Israel’s security cabinet on Tuesday, Netanyahu “welcomed President Trump’s proposal to cancel the ceasefire agreement altogether if Hamas fails to release”all” the hostages on Saturday. Trump’s controversial plan for the US to take over post-war Gaza and permanently relocate the two million Palestinians living there so that it could be rebuilt and turned into the “Riviera of the Middle East” had added fuel to the tension in the region.
