Kochi: A tipsy bridegroom was rejected by the bride for creating ruckus during the day of marriage and landing in police custody in Kozhencherry near Kottayam, media reports said.The heavily drunk bridegroom reached the church and struggled to get out of his vehicle.Soon he picked up a fight with a few including the priest present there to solemnize the event.
The bride called off the marriage after coming to know that the boy she was going to marry was a drunkard.When the police reached the spot, the boy pounced on the cops who took him into custody and booked him.
The boy had come from abroad for the event.The girl’s side demanded Rs 6 lakh as compensation from the boy’s side who agreed to the demand, the reports said.
