BJP growth for Oppn disunity

Kochi: The BJP-led front’s consecutive wins in Lok Sabha polls, landslide victory in Maharashtra and return to power in Delhi after over 27 years has triggered unrest in the Opposition.
The credit for unprecedented growth of the BJP should obviously go to the grand old party of Congress led by Sonia Gandhi and her children.
Congress’ failure to tap the talent of smart leaders like Shashi Tharoor instead of K C Venugopal is one of the reasons for its unpopularity and making of poor strategies to face a mighty saffron party-led alliance.
It is a pity that the Congress failed miserably to utilise the might of high profile parties like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Trinamool Congress, DMK, and others for keeping BJP at bay.
The unabated march of the BJP is a dangerous trend for the political stability of the country.
The Congress’ dismal show in Delhi polls in which it failed to win even one seat has encouraged parties of the Congress-led I.N.D.I.A bloc to blame the Congress for opposition disunity.
The Congress-Aam Aadmi Party spat in Delhi has angered the constituents of the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said the two parties would have won the Delhi election if they had fought the poll together.
The Congress mounted a massive attack on the AAP with Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi flaying AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal over his alleged role in the Delhi excise policy case and the Sheesh Mahal row. Congress ally CPI.blamed the Congress for “disunity” among the alliance’s partners.
“… the Congress party must do serious introspection on how to strengthen the INDIA bloc in the coming days,” CPI General Secretary D Raja said.
Taking a dig at the Congress and AAP, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said fight amongst yourselves some more. Abdullah had earlier questioned the purpose of the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
