Modi, Pinarayi exchange war of words

Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala Chief Minister exchanged war of words on corruption at different elections meetings in Kerala on Monday, media reports said.
Modi accused Punarayi and his daughter of engaging in corrupt practices.
CPM openly looted people’s money in Kerala pushing the state into a debt trap making it impossible to pay pension to the retired and salary to government staff.
The left government’s loot had made the state bankrupt. The CPM devised new models for looting money from Karuvannur cooperative bank, he said at Thiruvananthapuram.
People who put their sweat money in the bank for getting higher interest and marrying off their daughters were taken for a ride by the left parties, he said.
People were calling a BJP candidate seeking to get back their money, he said, accusing Pinarayi of giving false promises to redeem their deposits in Karuvannur bank.
Modi said the centre is exploring options to
redeem the money of gullible depositors by using the Rs 90 crore wealth attached by the ED.

Modi accused the Left government of scuttling the probe carried out by central agencies.
Accusing the CPM Thrissur district secretary of amassing huge wealth, Modi said all the corrupt leaders will be put behind bars.
Rubbishing the charges, Pinarayi said such tactics will not work against the Left.
Claiming restoration of normalcy at Karuvannur bank, Pinarayi said Rs 117 crore deposit was redeemed.
Pinarayi said the problem in Karuvannur was detected by the Cooperative department and had taken action against the wrong doers.
The party’s election campaign will not be affected by freezing CPM accounts as people will extend financial help, he said while addressing an election campaign at Chavakkad in Thrissur.
